they have slides on the long side and sheet metal channels for "safe" grip with the forklift forks. The structure is made of 40x40mm square section tubular steel, the side crosspieces are 20x20mm and the top is covered in painted sheet metal. Closing occurs after lifting the side on a special hinge which allows the interlocking pin to come out. The lot is in perfect condition as shown in the photos.
