To create a vacuum, as well as to maintain it, it is necessary to have mechanical devices that remove the gas contained in it from the vacuum chambers through pipes;
such devices are called vacuum pumps. In essence, a vacuum pump is a compressor, as it brings a fluid in the gaseous phase from a lower pressure to a higher one.
