Blister packs are commonly used as single-dose packaging for pharmaceutical tablets, capsules or lozenges.

Blisters are able to provide barrier protection. The blisters are created by means of a form-fill-seal process at the pharmaceutical company or packager. This process means that the blister is created from rolls of flat sheet metal or film is filled with the pharmaceutical product and subsequently closed (sealed) on the same equipment. The machine is operated pneumatically, the work cycle is obtained by means of a programmer activated by two motors for choosing the two speeds of the packaging machine. All stations are easy to access and all movements are fully visible so the line is very simple to clean.
